Notice: Temporary Suspension of Food Service Industry Specified Skilled Worker (i) TEST Reservations

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has instructed us to suspend the implementation of the Specified Skilled Worker (i) TEST for the Food Service Industry, both within Japan and overseas. Accordingly, we will suspend reservation procedures for this examination until further notice. Please note that we will continue to accept reservation procedures as scheduled for the Specified Skilled Worker (ii) TEST for the Food Service Industry, as well as the Specified Skilled Worker (i and ii) TEST for the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Industry.

This suspension order was issued because the number of holders of the Specified Skilled Worker (i) residence status in the food service industry is expected to exceed the upper limit of 50,000 set by the Japanese government for the five-year period from FY2024 to FY2028 (*). As a result, the examination has also been suspended. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has not indicated when the examination will resume.
